Germs no more cause disease than cars cause automobile accidents.
The viruses and bacteria we call germs are everywhere. They’re in the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. They can only result in disease when our bodies provide a hospitable environment for them to reproduce.
For example, let’s say you inhale some tuberculosis germs. Just because these germs are present does not mean you’ll get tuberculosis. It depends upon many factors, such as the health of your lungs, the function of your immune system, and your overall health.
The nervous system controls the proper function (health) of your lungs and all the other tissues and organs of your body. That’s why your chiropractic doctor is so keenly interested in the integrity of your nervous system. Since the controlling nerve impulses travel through the spinal column, chiropractic care can have an affect on many aspects of health besides back and neck pain.
If the presence of germs automatically caused disease, you would have a constant head cold and suffer from a chronic case of the flu!
Do You Believe?
Germs are everywhere. The “germ theory” that most people use to explain disease, is a carry-over from the early 1800s. These microscopic organisms are one of the most misunderstood aspects of health. Do you still believe in germs?
